Teeth Whitening
Dental bleaching, also known as teeth whitening, is a common procedure in general dentistry but most especially in the field of cosmetic dentistry. As a person ages the adult teeth often become darker due to changes in the mineral structure of the tooth, as the enamel becomes less porous.
Teeth can also become stained by bacterial pigments, foodstuffs and tobacco. Certain antibiotic medications can also lead to teeth stains or a reduction in the brilliance of the enamel.
At the Dentalcare Plus London & South East Dental Implant Centre, we use two teeth whitening methods, an ‘in-office bleaching’, which is applied by a professional dentist here and ‘at-home bleaching’, which is used in conjunction with custom made trays. We only use the best products on the market.
Patients interested in teeth whitening need to book a whitening consultation with us. It is often necessary to precede the teeth whitening treatment with a hygiene treatment (De-Scaling & Air Polishing) to ensure that the teeth are in the optimum state to achieve the best whitening results.
