The Lead Implantologist at the Thames Valley Dental Implant Centre, is Dr. Francisco Pereira de Oliveira Marques dos Santos. After graduating in Dental Medicine at the prestigious Egas Moniz Institute in Lisbon, Francisco concluded a post graduate course in fixed prosthodontics, focusing on all-ceramic restorations, CAD-CAM systems and oral rehabilitation.

He interrupted his professional activity and moved to New York for two years, where he concluded the “Advanced Program in Implant Dentistry” at the New York University College of Dentistry, under the direct supervision of Dr. Dennis P Tarnow, one of the world’s leaders in Implant Dentistry. After concluding the Implant Program he was invited to become a faculty member of the NYU Comprehensive Dentistry Program.

Francisco has received awards from the most prestigious academies in the discipline of implant dentistry, such as the American Academy of Osseointegration, The Greater New York Dental Meeting and the NYU Research Day. Dr. Santos was also awarded a Diploma by the Pikos Institute, Tampa, Florida, in Advanced Bone Grafting Techniques.

He regularly lectures groups of dentists with a special interest in implant dentistry, both in the UK and abroad.
