(Extraction with) Socket Preservation

At Dentalcare Plus London & South East, we perform the Socket Preservation procedure in house.

After a tooth extraction there is always a 25% chance of horizontal bone resorption (loss). This natural event may lead to cosmetic problems in the aesthetic area.

A socket preservation is a procedure in which graft material or scaffold is placed in the socket of an extracted tooth, mainly in the aesthetic area, at the time of extraction to preserve the alveolar ridge. Socket preservations are especially required in defects type II (presence of soft tissue or absence of the bucal plate of bone) or in patients with a high smile line and thin biotype.

If you wish to refer a patient to us for a socket preservation, see Referrals
