Guided Bone Regeneration (Bone Augmentation)
At the Dentalcare Plus London & South East Implant Centres, we perform the Guided Bone Regeneration procedure in house.
After a tooth extraction there is always a 25% chance of horizontal bone resorption (loss). This natural event may lead to cosmetic problems in the aesthetic area, since implants require a minimum of 2mm of bone on the buccal plate.
Without sufficient bone, cosmetic problems, recession of the gums and exposure and loss of the implant may occur. Guided bone regeneration is a surgical technique of bone regeneration, which through the use of membranes and particulate bone grafting material, bone is regenerated mainly in the horizontal dimension.
